Dear Parents/Guardians of Graduates,

I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your child.  Earning a high school diploma is a great accomplishment. It has truly been my honor to be a part of your child’s education for the past 4 years at Necedah High school. Thank you for the support you have provided your child and the staff at the Necedah Area School District.

In preparation for graduation, we thought you might appreciate some of the following details. In order to walk across the stage to receive their diploma, all graduates must:

• PASS all required classes AND have 26.5 credits 

• Completed 40 Volunteer/Community Service Hours (Documented in Skyward through Mrs. Brown)

• Completed their Senior Essay and Presentation

Wednesday, May 20th, 2026

• Chromebook turned in - any charges paid - Any cracks will result in a $50 fee being assessed.  Please prepare for this because it must be paid before Friday graduation practice!!!

• Fees due to the office before you receive diploma on Saturday morning

Thursday, May 21st, 2026   

• Last FULL day of classes

• 1st hour – receive your check out slips from the office

• You may use lunch or after school to check out with other areas (i.e. coaches, library, locker, etc.).  You may not use class time to go to other teachers.

• Locker check out – after school

• Turn in check out sheet to Mrs. Brown BEFORE you leave the building

Friday, May 22nd, 2026

• HS Choir needs to report to the HS gym at 7:55 am for a short rehearsal.

• 8:30 - Elementary and Middle School Senior Walk - Please have a cap and gown! Graduation practice to follow 

• 10:00 – High School Awards program in the gym.

• Senior cookout – After High School Awards program

• Seniors dismissed for the afternoon.

Saturday, May 23rd 

• At school – meet in band room, put robe on  9:00 am

• MPR – Stage – Group picture    9:30 am

• Graduation      10:00 am

• Each senior will receive 6 tickets for chairs on the gym floor, other family members may sit in the bleachers.  No limit to spectators.

• Live streaming will be available for guests that will not be in attendance

• Outdoor reception will follow the ceremony

REMINDERS:

• Cap and gown – take out of package and hang now, iron gown carefully

• Write Name in Cap

• Return Stoles and Honor Cords to Mr. Becker after ceremony

• School rules apply through graduation

• Pictures available online, details to follow

AFTER GRADUATION:

• Pick up belongings left in the band room

• NHS return stoles to Mr. Becker or Mr. Wilcox

• You are alumni of Necedah High School.  When you come to school, please get a visitor’s pass!

• To donate your cap & gown after the ceremony, please give it to a senior advisor.
